Can't Wait For Answers

February 1, 2009 marks the four year anniversary of Deep Space Communications Network. It was four years ago that DSCN first offered the public a means to transmit messages into Deep Space.

In the last four years Deep Space Communications Network has sent nearly a hundred transmissions containing a wide variety of messages including: messages collected on www.craigslist.org ; 'live whale sounds"; messages from the listeners of "The Space Show" www.thespaceshow.com and most recently the entire motion picture "The Day the Earth Stood Still" .

This four year anniversary is significant too, as it has been estimated that transmissions by DSCN may travel up to four light years and still be detected. So, now we just have to wait, maybe another four years to see if anyone out there responds. Hopefully, our friends at the SETI Institute www.seti.org will let us know.

What do you think they will send us? A movie review?
